Within the Trust, the Tavistock and Portman ‘Charing Cross’ Gender Identity Clinic (GIC) is the largest and oldest of the 7 English GICs, dating back to 1966. It serves to diagnose and treat adults with gender dysphoria through a biopsychosocial care pathway, involving a multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, endocrinologists, specialist nurses, speech and language therapists, and medical practitioners. The team members are lead clinicians, researchers and trainers in the field with an international reputation.
The Gender Identity Clinic (GIC) in London is recruiting to a whole time equivalent Specialty Doctor role within the clinic. This is an exciting and emerging field of medicine. The position will be a 1 WTE in an NHS clinic in Hammersmith, London with no on call responsibilities. Flexible working will be considered.
Interest in Gender is mandatory, however experience and training in the field can be attained once appointed.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
