This is an exciting opportunity to join a new project funded under the Youth Endowment Fund.

The Youth Endowment Fund was established with a £200 million endowment from the Home Office and run is by Impetus in partnership with the Early Intervention Foundation and Social Investment Business to help prevent youth offending by intervening early to stop children getting dragged into crime.

The Youth Endowment Fund is dedicated to building the evidence base to determine what works and supporting improved outcomes for children and young people. Each project will be evaluated to build and share knowledge of the types of interventions which are most effective at preventing young people from being drawn in to crime and violence.

Our initiative was one of 22 projects funded under this first grant round which will provide a service for children, families and schools where children are transitioning from primary to secondary school (10 to 12 years old) and are at risk of being drawn into youth offending/anti-social behaviour.

The service will be delivered by a specialist multi-disciplinary team, comprising the Team Manager, Psychology and Nursing, and potentially an additional discipline.

The post holder will need to be able to use their knowledge, skills and capabilities to support children and their families as they approach the transition from primary school to secondary school. The post holder will, through a therapeutic approach, encourage emotional containment and pro social behaviour in addressing key aims of the programme which is to reduce impulsivity and disruptive behaviour in children at risk of future involvement in youth crime and violence.

The project is live and has a fixed end date (31.10.2021) and so successful candidates will need to be able to start in role by February 2020 at the latest.
