 Assistant Psychologist, Tavistock Outreach in Primary Schools With Families (TWF)

Band 5 AfC pro rata

Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust

The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust provides psychotherapy services and individual, group and family psychotherapy trainings within an NHS context. It also conducts research into a range of areas relating to psychotherapy outcome, development and psychopathology and social processes.

TOPS With Families

The Tavistock Outreach in Primary Schools With Families project (TWF) provides a primary school based specialist psychotherapeutic service for children and families with complex, chronic and severe emotional difficulties. Alongside Child Psychotherapy, Adult Therapy and Advocacy are offered to TWF families as well as consultations and capacity building to schools staff.

TWF Assistant Psychologist post

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic assistant psychologist, who will play a central role in data collection and analysis for TWF research into outcomes of the children referred to the service. The appointee will assist the Project Leader and other members of staff in developing appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems and in making grant applications. Core tasks include maintaining patient databases, monitoring and evaluation design and implementation, preparing annual reports.

We are looking for someone with an interest in, and an ability to engage hard to reach families in relation to outcome monitoring as well the ability to communicate effectively with clinicians and external professionals.

Applicants need to have had experience of report writing and assisting with grant applications. Applicants interested in contributing creatively to devise bespoke evaluation for our new service are particularly welcomed.
