As a key member of the Transformation directorate management and leading one of its constituent departments, Informatics, the Informatics Manager will ensure the provision of a high quality set of Informatics services, including clinical, educational and corporate system configuration and support, data warehousing, reports and dashboard development and operation, user management and training. The Informatics team also provide Registration Authority and smart card management services. Other functions include system development and support for key functions via locally developed solutions planned and managed by the Informatics Team. The Informatics team work closely with other central service departments (Commercial, IT, Finance, Clinical Governance) to provide analysis for the most appropriate approach to meet the Trust’s information requirements to support the business of improving patient care.
The post holder will lead on the design and operation of these services utilising the Trust’s selected service management framework, ITIL. They will also lead on the design and implementation of the system support and data management aspects of the Trust’s data security and protection approach, working closely with the Trust Data Security and Protection Manager.
The post holder will support the Assistant Director of IMT, in developing, managing and monitoring the Informatics annual revenue budget.
The post holder will be responsible for the development of processes for, and ongoing oversight of, all contract management for Informatics managed system. They will manage third party contracts within their remit, including regular performance reporting against each contract as well as enforcing any performance management.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
