Lead Therapist - Tavistock Outreach in Primary Schools With Families (TWF)

Part-time: 7.5 Hours per Week (2 Sessions)

Fixed term: until 31st July 2020

The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, which consists of the Tavistock Clinic and the Portman Clinic, provides multi-disciplinary clinical services for adults, adolescents and children and their families and postgraduate training for a wide range of care-givers in the field of mental health.

The Tavistock Outreach in Primary Schools With Families Project (TWF) is an outreach therapeutic service based in L.B. Camden primary schools, all in areas of significant socio-economic deprivation. The schools’ population is ethnically diverse, often with complex needs, and struggling to access/engage with services. TWF, previously named TOPS, has been working for almost two decades in Camden primary schools developing a strong partnership with schools while providing therapeutic interventions to children and parents/carers, and increasing schools capacity building on children’s mental health. TWF is now introducing additional therapeutic and supportive interventions, and a new partnership TWF-MIND in Camden Charity has been formed.

We are now looking for an experienced and adaptable Child Psychotherapist to join our team. The post involves providing a psychotherapeutic service in a TWF primary school in L.B. Camden, and working in partnership with the school to offer an effective and relevant service, direct clinical work with children and families, consulting to education staff, liaising with agencies, supervising and managing honorary assistant therapists, and membership of the wider TWF team. Candidates keen on contributing to service development are particularly welcomed.

This post is part funded by the Big Lottery Fund, John Lyon’s Charity, and TWF participating primary schools.

For further information about this TWF post please contact Marta Cioeta, TWF Project Leader on 02089382457 or by email, mcioeta@tavi-port.nhs.uk
