The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist mental health trust with a focus on training and education alongside a full range of mental health services and psychological therapies for children and their families, young people and adults.

We are committed to improving mental health and emotional wellbeing, believing that high quality mental health services should be available for all who need them. We bring a distinctive contribution based on the importance we attach to social experience at all stages of people’s lives, and our focus on psychological and developmental approaches to the promotion of health and the prevention and treatment of mental ill health

We contribute to the pool of ideas through our own research and development, but are also committed to bringing together the best ideas of the time, old and new, from inside and out, together with the most gifted and able professionals in our fields of endeavour. We aim to share our ideas and practice through as many routes as possible.

As a Trust we aim constantly to be evolving in nature and form in relation to the environment in which we work, to ensure that our contribution remains relevant.

The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is a prominent mental health trust which combines patient services, research and consultancy with a national remit for delivering mental health-related education and training.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the two Camden Community Teams (Open Minded). You will be part of the North Camden Community Team (NCCT), a large multi-disciplinary community team, part of a large and vibrant child and family department at Tavistock. You will be part of the core leadership of the team alongside the clinical service manager and will work closely with other Camden CAMHS teams and other services.

The team has a varied caseload of children, young people families and we are proud to offer dynamic, innovative and needs-led service to all, from those who need a high level of mental health care to those who need preventative interventions. We work closely with the multi-agency network and offer CAMHS input in schools.

Camden CAMHS is one of the pilot sites for Trailblazers’ initiative, with exciting developments such as the newly established intake team, the 4-week-waiting initiative and Mental Health Support Team offering support in schools.

You will be in a crucial and highly valued role in the team, consisting of Clinical Psychologists, Family and Systemic Psychotherapists, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapists, Social Workers and many trainees studying at Tavistock Centre. You will provide direct clinical input to children, young people and families especially those who present with a high level of mental health risk and complexity, work alongside and offer advice and consultation to colleagues.

You will join a large team of Consultant Psychiatry colleagues and will be supported to use and develop your expertise and contribute to service developments, clinical governance initiatives, quality improvement programmes, audit and research.
